Dirk Schouten clinches another Rookie podium at Spielberg for Dinamic Motorsport: in a shortened but thrilling race, the Dutchman preceded at the finish line Aldo Festante and Pietro Delli Guanti in a comeback...
Spielberg (AUT). An eventful Sunday was experienced by Dinamic Motorsport in the fourth Porsche Supercup race of the season, conditioned by an unforeseen event that forced race management to change the schedule. Due to the demolition of a bridge with sponsors along the track, the start was delayed by more than 40 minutes and the race shortened compared to the planned distance. At the start, Aldo Festante struggled to maintain his position, getting sucked into the pack and also overtaken by Dirk Schouten, who then imposed a very fast pace. The race, short but intense, was characterized by numerous duels, particularly in the central zone of the standings, where Dinamic Motorsport drivers faced off with some of the protagonists of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. Behind the Schouten-Festante duo, Pietro Delli Guanti, who was starting further behind, recovered several positions. Despite the chaos and the fierce competition, the bearers of the Modena team were able to manage the tires well and take advantage of some contacts between opponents to climb up important positions. To crown an excellent team performance, Schouten took a well-deserved third place in the Rookie standings.
Pietro Delli Guanti: “It was a complicated weekend. In qualifying I had my best time cancelled due to track limits, and this forced me to start far back on the grid. In the race, despite the short distance, I managed to make up several positions, making the most of the opportunities offered by a track that allows overtaking. It is not the result we were looking for, but I gave it everything and bring home positive indications for the next rounds!”.
Aldo Festante: “It was a good comeback. After my injury in Imola, I worked hard to get competitive again, and I'm glad I did it right here, where we finished in the points last year. To come back and do it again is a good confirmation. We know we can finish closer to the frontrunners, and the work done so far is going in the right direction. Now we will focus on Mugello, for the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, and then arrive at Spa even more ready!”.
Dirk Schouten: “Starting from P16 I knew it was gonna be difficult to fight for points in this short race. Our speed was actually really good. Had some really fun and fair battles during the race. The support on the stands was great, love this atmosphere!”.
