Spa-Francorchamp (BEL). Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini's season continues with another positive result in the GT2 European Series that, on the historic circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, conquer two well-deserved podiums. In race 1, it was Roberto Pampanini who took the start, firmly maintaining third position and starting a spectacular battle with the other Maserati. After a flawless first part of the race, the wheel passed to Mauro Calamia, who made a brilliant comeback to second place. At that point the Swiss driver began to close the gap to the lead. With a particularly spectacular drive, particularly in the stretch between turns 14 and 15, Calamia closes just 3.445 seconds off the lead, coming close to victory. In race 2, it was Calamia who got off to a great start at Source, allowing him to move immediately into second place. After a first part of the race conducted with authority, with 27 minutes to go he cedes the steering wheel to Pampanini, who holds the position until the last 13 minutes, when he is overtaken by the Lamborghini then winning the race. The third place finish is still a valuable result for the overall standings. The Belgian weekend confirms the competitiveness of the crew and the technical package, reviving ambitions for the continuation of the season.
